How does Hemp Extract work with your body?

The human body has an entire Endocannabinoid System (ECS) specifically designed to interact with the natural compounds found in the hemp plant. Cannabinoids exert their effects by naturally interacting with specific cannabinoid receptors present in your Endocannabinoid System, the body's biological system that plays a crucial role in maintaining homeostasis. This includes physiological and cognitive processes such as anxiety and stress, pain-sensation, fertility, mood and memory, appetite, inflammation, along with mediating the pharmacological effects of cannabis. Two primary cannabinoid receptors identified:

CB1 - found in the Brain, Lungs, Vascular System, Muscles, Gastrointestinal Tract, Reproductive Organs, Immune System, Liver, Bone Marrow, Pancreas, Kidneys, and Heart.

CB2 - found in the Spleen, Bones, Skin, Immune System, Liver, Bone Marrow, and Pancreas.

Additional benefits include: vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, flavonoids, fiber, and proteins. To read more, please click here

What is the 'entourage effect'?

The Entourage Effect occurs only with the use of Full Spectrum CBD as it includes all natural compounds present in the hemp plant, including over one hundred cannabinoids. The presence of all of the natural compounds in the hemp plant maximizes the effects of CBD and are thought to improve a variety of aliments such as anxiety, inflammation, sleeplessness, among others. The effect of all of these cannabinoids working in orchestra is known as the entourage effect.

Why does the extraction method matter?

Some competitors seeking to produce CBD products as cheaply as possible, Hudson Greens uses a sophisticated, eco-friendly CO2 extraction method that is overseen by a team of over 130 seasoned doctors and chemists in a pharmaceutical-grade certified cGMP facility. This unique process allows us to avoid using the harsh and toxic solvents used by lower-cost competitors and in the production of isolates and broad spectrum products.

Prior to arriving at the facility, the hemp crop is tested for pesticides, mycotoxins, and heavy metals. Upon passing the initial quality assurance test, the plant biomass is then subjected to a supercritical C02 extraction (SCFE) and liquid chromatography purification process, which is overseen by a team of doctors and chemists.

Some of the cheaper alternatives to CO2 extraction include:

Distillation which uses steam to separate the cbd oil from the hemp plant.
Solvent Extraction which is broken into two categories:
-Hydrocarbon extraction: Often Butane, Propane or other hydrocarbons are used which can leave toxic and cancer-causing residue in finished products.

-Natural Solvent extraction: Typically Olive oil or Ethanol is the solvent of choice. This method is cheap and reliable. However, Ethanol is highly combustible and dangerous to work with.

What is Chromatography & Why do we use it?

**Get link for more info**

Our unique chromatography filtration process incorporates the most recent advancements in science and technology, allowing us to purify our products without the use of harsh chemicals. Liquid chromatography is the safest and most natural process to achieve our specified, legal formulation while leaving intact, the full spectrum profile of the cannabinoids and synergistic compounds including Cannabidiol (CBD), Cannabichromene (CBC), Cannabigerol (CBG), Cannabinol (CBN), as well as a broad range of natural terpenes and flavonoids.

The hemp plant is a bioaccumulator which means it gradually accumulates substances such as pesticides, heavy metals, or other chemicals found in the soil or water in which it is grown. Hudson Greens ensures our products are free of these harmful substances by only working with pharmaceutical-grade cGMP certified partners who are required to test for these substances and other contaminants prior to any biomass entering the facility. Rigorous testing occurs at several stages throughout the extraction and purification process before the finished product is sent to third-party laboratories for final testing and certification.

Why is 3rd party testing important?

Since the industry is still in its infancy and fragmented, it is critical that you ensure the products you ingest are properly tested by an ISO certified 3rd party lab. These laboratories will test for purity, potency, contaminants, and will provide the results as a certificate of analysis (COA). It is important to always make sure the 3rd party tests incorporate an entire test panel that include results for: Potency, MycotoxinsPesticidesHeavy Metals

Current regulation does not require companies to provide this testing; it is each company’s choice to arrange for testing and post the results online. This testing can be expensive and take time. As such, it is a major hint to consumers that if a company does not properly publish its COA, or does not provide a full panel of results, it’s likely they do not test. Additionally, according to a study conducted by Penn Medicine, 26% of surveyed products contained less CBD than the label indicated, which could negate any intended health benefits. Always look at 3rd party lab tests to ensure the accuracy of the marketing matches the lab results. Consumers should also pay attention to COAs because certain synthetic Cannabinoids have been known to be extremely harmful. Hudson Greens is 100% natural Hemp Extract.

What dietary nutrients are in CBD?

Protein: Necessary for the structure, function, and regulation of your body’s tissues and organs. Hemp is considered a complete protein source, providing all 20 amino acids, including the nine essential amino acids your body doesn’t produce on its own.

Fiber: Critical to the health of your digestive system and has been shown to lower cholesterol and improve blood sugar levels.

Essential Fatty Acids: Full spectrum CBD oil is a great source of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids. Omega 3 acids play a role in making hormones that regulate inflammation and the contraction and relaxation of your arteries. They also lower triglyceride levels in the blood to reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.

What is the impact of Industrial Hemp?

The Industrial Hemp plant is an incredibly beneficial component to the ecosystem and in the removal of Carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere. The plant has been proven to absorb more CO2 per hectare than any forest or commercial crop and can be harvested semiannually in favorable climates. In addition, hemp fibers are ideal for textiles, paper, construction materials, and even in replacing plastics in vehicle construction and high performance composites such as carbon fiber.

The Industrial Hemp crop is a transformative rotational crop for our nation’s farmers who have been battered by decades of climate change and unpredictable weather. It is also effective in diversifying revenue streams as ongoing trade tensions and purchasing patterns of US farm goods have been sporadic and difficult to manage.

Why do we only sell Hemp Extract in Oil form?

When taken sublingually (under your tongue), CBD is more effectively absorbed to reach maximum benefits for your self-care needs. This is the safest, most effective delivery system for CBD as other methods of delivery are less bioavailable or take longer to feel the effects. CBD can also be taken by adding the desired amount to coffee, tea, juice, or even to your food.

CBD in pill format is often less effective because the CBD has to pass through your digestive system which takes longer to feel the desired effect.

We do not recommend vaping CBD. The CBD cartridges used in vape pens can contain solvents or can be mis-manufactured, using an inappropriate carrier oil which can lead to severe health complications and even death. Just like any inhaled substance, vaping products are currently under review by the FDA as they may increase the risk of asthma and cancer. Additionally, controlling dosing can be particularly difficult with vape pens. It is important to note that there have been several cases where users have died from vaping due to the manufacturer using the wrong type of carrier oil in the vape cartridge.

While Gummies are a tasty way to ingest CBD, Hudson Greens has found it difficult to ensure consistent dosing. Consequently, Hudson Greens does not currently offer these products in an effort to avoid producing and selling inconsistent products.

What are the benefits of CBD?

Many people integrate CBD into their wellness routine to support their health at a cellular level. CBD is just one of over 100+ cannabinoids found in the hemp plant which means Full Spectrum is more effective than a Broad Spectrum or CBD Isolate. It is important to note that not all CBD is created equal. Hudson Greens Full Spectrum CBD includes the full plant profile including many other cannabinoids and beneficial compounds such as terpenes and flavonoids. Research shows that using whole plant extract creates what is known as the Entourage Effect, the synergistic interplay between all of these natural compounds. This maximizes the effectiveness of CBD throughout the body. We make sure each dose gives you as much of Mother Nature’s medicine as possible.

Users of CBD report benefits including: easing of anxiety and stress, pain and inflammation relief, reduction in acne and skin issues, reduced premenstrual symptoms, and significant improvement in sleep patterns, along with improved cognitive function, elevated mood.

Instead of turning to pharmaceutical drugs (i.e. Xanax, Opioids) or over the counter medicine (i.e. Advil, Tylenol) that come with a plethora of side effects, many are replacing these drugs with Cannabinoids and CBD as it provides an all natural solution without serious side effects.
